I am wondering how much of an impact images have on arguments and movements. I think that they are more important than words, so I want to compare images and their impact then, and now.
It would be interesting to see the impact of slavery now in a picture, and slavery then as a diagram, then compare them.
I have a similar interest in this question. While i agree that images hold power i also feel that with the mass media culture we live in now its hard to create any one symbol that stands among the rest. While i can think of many i know i am also bombarded by the number of them and wonder how much or how little we are aware of them compared to the past?

I really like this idea. I honestly wish I thought of it first. I'm interested to see what you will find.
